OKTAGON is set to make their debut at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany on April 5 with match-ups now being announced for the card.

At OKTAGON 69, Wales' Aaron Aby makes his return as he looks to get back in the win column against promotional newcomer Mohammed Walid.

Aby has one of the most inspiring stories of any fighter in mixed martial arts today having recovered from testicular cancer and battled with cystic fibrosis since a young age.

The fact he is even competing today, let alone fighting at a high level in the flyweight division, is nothing short of remarkable.

Though it's worth nothing that he has been matched with top opposition during his time in the promotion, the 27-fight veteran hasn't hit the ground running since signing with OKTAGON in 2023.

He has suffered two defeats in flyweight title fights along with a loss last time out to the debuting Zhalgas Zhumagulov with his sole win coming against Chris Daniel last January in Newcastle, England.

Aby now draws the task of welcoming another new signing to the roster when he takes on Kurdistan's Walid on April 5.

The 29-year old has an overall record of 7-4 meaning that Aby will not just be one of the most experienced opponents that he has faced in his career, he's also the most successful.

Walid will be familiar to the German fans in attendance in Dortmund having previously fought for the regional GMC promotion earlier in his career.

The real stand-out aspect of his pro record to date is that all seven of his wins have come by way of finish with five submission victories jumping off the page.

He's also yet to be finished through his three defeats but this will be put to the test by Wales' Aby who brings a high pace and unwavering will to the table.
