How to set up an arm-triangle finish if your elbows are blocked

Greg Jackson, MMA’s most in-demand coach demonstrates the best techniques for the cage, aided by UFC bantamweight, John Dodson

1 - Greg is in the mount position, where he can throw elbow strikes and make John cover up.

2 - The aim is to get John to bring his elbows up high, leaving room for Greg to maneuver beneath them.

3 - After a strike, Greg pushes his left hand through John’s defense and drops his weight outside his left shoulder.

4 - Greg pushes John’s bicep with his free hand, as he drops his head to the mat on the outside of John’s left shoulder.

5 - Greg passes to side control, stepping his left leg onto John’s left side, then pushing off it to move himself out.

6 - Greg drops to a sprawl, then pushes his head in and pulls his arms in the opposite direction to squeeze and get the tap.
