Carlos Condit prepares to make an early case for ‘Fight of the Year’ thanks to a five-round war against Robbie Lawler in Las Vegas.




Saturday December 12th

With less than a month to go before he fights Robbie Lawler, Condit attends UFC 194 in Las Vegas alongside UFC flyweight Joseph Benavidez and striking coach Brandon Gibson to watch Conor McGregor KO José Aldo in 13 seconds.  


Thursday December 17th

It’s back to the grind for ‘The Natural Born Killer’ and that means a morning of boxing with coach Andrey Ivichuk in at Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico. “One session closer to the belt,” Condit says on Instagram.


Saturday December 26th

Carlos spends time at home in New Mexico where he prepares a lean meal of steak and sweet potatoes for himself and son Owen. “We don’t change anything, really. We eat like this year-round,” explains the 170lb title challenger.



Monday December 28th

Before jetting off to Vegas, where he’ll meet Lawler for the belt, Condit visits Damage Control Mouthguards to get fitted and ready for the fight of his life. “Now... I’m ready,” he posts online along with a menacing photo.


Thursday December 30th

It’s the day of the open workouts and Condit shows off the skills he’s been working on during camp and give a taste of what he plans to show on Saturday night. “I’m calm, I’m poised, I’m confident, I’m ready to fight,” he tells the media.


Friday January 1st

It’s the day before MMA’s first big event of 2016, and that means it’s time to hit the scales. After working with nutrition expert Mike Dolce for the first time, Condit comes in at an ultra-lean 169lb. Lawler hits the championship limit of 170lb.



Saturday January 2nd

The fighters enter the MGM Grand Garden Arena ready for a war, and they get one. After 25 ferocious minutes, including one of the best rounds of all time in the fifth, Lawler is awarded the win via split-decision, though many feel Condit deserved the nod.
