Things we hear, things we see, things we know.
Pettis not training with Cerrone
Anthony Pettis has denied Donald Cerrone’s claims that ‘Showtime’ was part of ‘Cowboy’s training camp for his lightweight title fight with Rafael dos Anjos. “I’m possibly fighting this dude again, and he was talking big stuff when I fought him before,”
said Pettis during a fan Q&A session, “so I’m definitely not helping him out training.”
Barao’s future uncertain
Andre Pederneiras says no decision has been made about a switch in weight classes for Renan Barao. The former champ was thought to be moving up a division after his second loss to TJ Dillashaw in July and a history difficult cuts to 135lb, but the founder of the Nova Uniao gym said they are “studying several things” before they finalize their next move.
‘Mayhem’ tasered by cops
Jason Miller was in trouble with the law again recently. The Orange County Sherriff’s Department said the former UFC 185lb’er threw a ceramic tile at deputies who responded to a disturbance call at his home, before he threatened them with a fire extinguisher and a metal pole. He was subdued with a taser and arrested after an eight-minute struggle.
Sonnen to stay retired
Despite his suspension from MMA ending next year, Chael Sonnen says he won’t return to the sport. The American gangster from the mean streets of West Linn, Oregon, told The MMA Hour: “Am I getting the itch? I never really lose it. When I go to bed at night, I do still fantasize about that. But I fantasize about a lot of things.”
