Issue 123

December 2014

1. Jimmy grabs Riley’s sleeves with overhand grips.

2. He fakes like he’s going to throw Riley over his shoulder.

3. Riley leans his weight in anticipation to defend the throw.

4. Jimmy capitalizes by changing direction and stepping forward to cup behind Riley’s right foot with the bottom of his own right foot.

5. He drives over the leg and reaches down with his left hand to pick the ankle.

6. Riley falls to the mat and Jimmy walks into him to finish the technique on top.

PRO TIP:

The key is to sell your opponent on the fact you’re going to throw them forward with a fake by rotating your head to look behind you.
