Ecstasy... An elated and fresh Johny Hendricks strides across the Octagon following the final horn of his five-round UFC 167 main event challenge for a marked-up Georges St Pierre’s UFC welterweight belt. Entirely convinced he’s about to earn the judges’ nod, the concept the American wrestler might not be declared the victor in a few minutes time hasn’t even begun to cross his mind. Each fighter had toiled against the other for five rounds, with many observers believing ‘Bigg Rigg’ had done enough to take the title from the 170lb division’s longest-reigning king. In reality, two of the bout’s three judges assessed that St Pierre had earned the first, third and fifth rounds. The agony of defeat was indeed only moments away for Hendricks...
