A ten-time UFC veteran with three ‘submission of the night’ honors and a ‘KO of the night’ to boot, Macdonald’s kitbag is crammed with everything he needs to stay at the top of his game.

MMA Gloves

I’ve got a pair of UFC gloves. Having fought in the UFC ten times, I’ve got a lot of these kicking around. I keep them in my bag and use them every day, they’re good gloves.

Shin Pads

I’ve have a pair of Twins shin pads, the big thick bulky ones for sparring. That way you can kick each other hard but not injure each other, but you still get the realistic effect of hitting each other. They’re good shin pads, I’ve had them a long time and they’ve held up well.

Metal Mulisha cap

I’ve got a Metal Mulisha hat here, one of my big sponsors. I always have a hat in my bag to throw on after training.

Supplements

Got some Magnum nutrition products – I’ve tried a lot of different supplements over the years, they make one of the best-quality supplements I’ve used, they help me recover after a hard day of training.

Boxing gloves

I’ve got some 16oz Title boxing gloves. I’ve used a lot of boxing gloves over the years, these are as good as any I’ve used. They last well, they’re good for sparring.

Clothing

Hitman shorts and t-shirt, they make great gear, great for training. The shorts are durable, they’ve held up in training and fights, plus they look pretty darn good too.

Kneepads

I’ve got a pair of kneepads in here for sparring days, checking kicks and preventing injuries to the people that are kicking you, and helping my knees too.

Bag

The bag, it’s a Mountain Equipment co-op duffel bag, I’ve had it for years. It’s logged a lot of miles, it’s been all around the world with me. It’s a great bag!

Miscellaneous

I’ve got my iPod in here with a pair of earphones, not earbuds, because I’ve got cauliflower ears so bad the buds wouldn’t stay in my ears, I’m forced to use the headphones!

Some hand wraps and tape, you always want to tape your gloves, it’s the Velcro that scratches you, and that’s the best way to get a staph infection, to have an open wound and let infection get in there. It’s very important to tape your gloves. Got some scissors to cut the tape off, obviously!

Got a Shock Doctor groin guard for obvious reasons. Even though I have four children, I still like to take care of the family jewels!
