One of the most popular MMA fighters in the world, Wanderlei Silva’s kitbag contains an assortment of training gear and good-luck charms. We took a look into the Axe Murderer’s kitbag and survived!
I have a ‘Team WAND’ gym bag I take with me when I travel, and in my gym I keep all training gear in a plastic bin. I keep it close to the Octagon so I do not walk too far to change from boxing to MMA to BJJ.”
Shorts
“ I have tried many shorts and Toe2Toe make great shorts. I like the company and they treat me and my team good. I used to wear tighter shorts but now I have changed the style of shorts I use. I like these a lot.”
Gloves
“I use Triumph United gloves. These are the best I have found for training. I have 16oz boxing gloves for padwork and 16oz lace-up sparring gloves. These fit my hands nice and are very high quality. I also use the MMA training and sparring gloves as well. My hands are my tools, and I need to protect them.”
Supplements
“I train very hard and need to keep my nutrition as good as possible. My team and I choose Xyience for me. Mouth guard
“PPM is the mouth guard I use. They hooked computers up to me and had sensors all over my neck and face! The mouthpiece helps me so much with balance and with power. It also protects my teeth, I have a diamond in my tooth now and it would be an expensive punch to take if it got knocked out of my mouth!”
Good luck
“Just for luck I have a little ‘Round 5’ action figure in my bag. My son left it there and I just never take it out!”
Misc
“Today I have a Fighters Only magazine in my bag! I like the picture of me on the cover! I like this magazine and I like to show my family this one with me on the cover, it is nice!
“I throw my car keys into my bag as well. I have an Aston Martin. If anyone took my gym bag they could go away with my car and I would never see them again! They would be very lucky if that happened!”
