Alistair Overeem is back in the kickboxing world after his UFC release.

Overeem was moved on from the UFC in March following his February defeat to heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov.

Plenty of speculation surrounded the fighting future of “The Demolition Man” and it was announced today that the Dutchman will be competing in the ring with Glory Kickboxing.

First reported by ESPN, it’s expected that he will make his Glory debut later this year.

A heavyweight champion in MMA organisations Strikeforce and Dream, Overeem found success in the kickboxing world in K-1 before joining the UFC roster in 2011.

In the kickboxing world, Overeem defeated the likes of Tyrone Spong and Gokhan Saki before beating countryman Peter Aerts in the K-1 World Grand Prix final in 2010. He hasn’t competed in the sport since.

Overeem also has Badr Hari as a big name he has a win over during his 10-4 kickboxing record.
