UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and former title holder Daniel Cormier will fight for a third time at UFC 252.

The trilogy bout is set to take place on 15 August as announced by UFC President Dana White on ESPN’s “First Take” show.

As yet, no location for the fight has been announced, though it’s expected to take place on American soil.

The pair, who have unexpectedly become heated rivals over the past two years, first fought at UFC 226 in July 2018.

Cormier became a two-weight champion after he knocked out Miocic in the first round.

However, Miocic overcame adversity to get revenge over Cormier in their rematch at UFC 241 last August.

Cormier looked dominant in the first three rounds, but Ohioan Miocic rallied to score a knockout win of his own in the fourth round to win back the belt he made his.

After long hinting at retirement, this could well be Cormier’s final MMA fight.
