After taking up MMA training Canadian Perry dropped a whopping 74lbs. Here he says how he did it. Get inspired by his journey.

Home: Vancouver, Canada
“In January 2011 I walked into my first MMA gym weighing 244lb. With a very high body-fat percentage and feeling very intimidated, I started with just boxing classes and treadmill workouts. I cut out all bad foods, salts and sugars, and began eating very clean: brown grain, lean meats and drinking lots of water.
“I lost my first 20lb fairly easy due to the lifestyle change. Three months in, I began training jiu-jitsu, wrestling and kickboxing. I was also doing S&C at least three days a week, and I spent three hours a day, six days a week in the gym.
“In a little over 11 months I lost 84lbs and I took my first MMA fight in December at 170lb, which I won via triangle in the first round.
“MMA has changed my life; it has shown me what hard work and dedication can really do for you."
