Shane Carwin recently stated on Twitter he “had the best wife in the world” after she made him her recipe for protein pancakes.
It’s hard to disagree.
After posting a picture of the pancakes on the Internet, one daring fan told Carwin “they look like sh*t.” Ever the gentleman, Carwin politely replied: “My wife made me them so they’re the best damn thing I’ve ever tasted.” What a guy.
Packed full of protein and virtually zero fat, they may become a staple of any warrior’s diet.
Recipe (makes six)
- In a bowl combine ½ cup rolled oats, ½ cup of fat-free cottage cheese, ½ a cup of egg whites, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon.
- Heat cooking spray in non-stick skillet and pour ¼ cup of batter in at a time to make one pancake.
- Cook two minutes per side, or until lightly browned. Serve with a drizzle of agave nectar and fresh berries.
- Nutrition score per pancake: 260 calories,
3g fat, 25g protein
