In the main event, Nguyen, the reigning featherweight champion, silenced the crowd in the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila by knocking Folayang, the defending lightweight title holder, out cold, landing an overhand right direct to the chin as Folayang spun for a spinning back-kick at 2:20 of round two. The Australian, now 10-1, maintained his streak of winning all of his bouts by knockout. Folayang’s slate now reads 18-6.

The night’s co-main event for the ONE flyweight title saw the belt stay with Adriano Moraes. The Brazilian from American Top Team was tentative at first, striking cautiously with wushu champion Danny Kingad, but once was able to make the Filipino fall to the mat, he was dominant. Once ‘Mikinho’ too the back, the end was in sight and Kingad was forced to tap at 4:45 of round one. Moraes is now 17-2, whereas Kingad’s first professional defeat leaves him at 7-1.

Home fans saw one Filipino win on the main card as bantamweight Kevin Belingon handed Kevin Chung of Korean his first defeat. The Team Lakay product dominated the striking exchanges for all three rounds and stayed out of danger on the ground, preferring to throw leg kicks to his downed opponent for the majority of the times his back went to the mat. ‘The Silencer’ took a unanimous from the judges. It was his fourth straight win after an unsuccessful challenge for Bibiano Fernandes’ tile and is now 17-5. Chung’s record stands at 5-1.

In a flyweight fight, Hayato Suzuki suffered his first defeat in his 20th fight as a professional when he was tapped quickly by Brazilian Alex Silva. The BJJ black belt from the Evolve MMA fight team recorded his fifth straight win in ONE and improved to 6-1.

The first bout of the main card also ended with a quick submission, as Australian bantamweight Reece McLaren survived early striking success from Thailand’s Anatpong Bunrad. McClaren’s record improved to 10-5, Bunrad fell to 6-4.
