Irish featherweight star James Gallagher has picked up a knee injury in training and been left with no choice but to withdraw from a scheduled fight on November 10 at Dublin, Ireland’s 3Arena.
Gallagher’s Bellator 187 headline slot now goes to his rival AJ McKee, who faces Ireland’s Brian Moore, while the Irishman’s original opponent, Jeremiah Labiano, will be rebooked for a fight at Bellator 188 on November 16
It’s a crushing blow for Gallagher, 7-0, a man who was last seen submitting Chinzo Machida inside a round at Bellator NYC in June. This would have been his first headline appearance in Bellator and his second fight for the organization in front of his passionate Irish fans. The 20-year-old is understandably a little upset.
