ONE Championship today announced additional bouts for ONE: Conquest of Kings, their inaugural event in Surabaya, which is set to take place on 29 July at the GOR Kertajaya Arena.
In the main event, reigning champion Kairat Akhmetov will face interim titleholder Adriano Moraes to crown the undisputed ONE world flyweight champion. Also added to the card are flyweight bouts between Danny Kingad and Hexigetu and Stefer Rahardian and Niko Soe.
An unbeaten flyweight contender from the famed Team Lakay, Danny ‘The King’ Kingad is a professional martial artist with a perfect 5-0 record. A warrior from the mountains of the Cordilleras and one of the top prospects to come out of Baguio City, Philippines, Kingad is a tremendous striker and a former 2015 Regional Wushu champion. In his most recent bout, Kingad met a tough test in the form Malaysia’s Muhammad Aiman, but was able to put on an impressive performance en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Thirty-two-year-old Hexigetu of Inner Mongolia, China, is a professional martial artist with a record of 4-2. Blessed with an inherent ability to strike and grapple, coupled with a highly-aggressive style, Hexigetu is eager to join and work his way through a deep roster of talent at ONE Championship. On July 29, he makes his debut for the promotion.
Top Indonesian prospect Stefer Rahardian dazzled in his ONE Championship debut last August when winning the ONE: Titles and Titans flyweight tournament, finishing both Yotha Hutagalung and Hendrick Wijaya by first round rear-naked choke to take the title. In his last outing, Rahardian, 6-0, impressed with a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over flamboyant Filipino striker Eugene Toquero.
Singaporean flyweight prospect Niko Soe is a 24-year-old with a 3-1 record and a well-rounded skill set, complete with a great kickboxing base and a capable ground game. In his most recent bout, Soe, a product of Impact MMA, defeated Malaysia’s Muhamad Haidar via first-round submission.
In addition to this exciting card, ONE Championship will also hold the 2017 Surabaya bantamweight tournament, which will feature Indonesia’s top martial arts talents as they battle it out for the distinction of being crowned tournament champion.
