Brazilian outlet Combate.com reported that Ultimate Fighting Championship works to promote the revenge between heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and top contender Junior dos Santos at UFC 211, in Dallas, on May 13th.

Dos Santos was set to face Stefan Struve in February but the ‘skyscrapper’ injured the shoulder and was cut from the card and the bout was called off.

Werdum, who would take Cain Velasquez at UFC 207 on December 30, reminds his challenge against the former champion was all cancelled and says he is the one who deserves to get the title shot.

“No, I didn’t find it fair because I had a fight cancelled too”, he tells Fighters Only. “Actually it was going to be me and Cain Velasquez and the winner would fight for the belt, so I didn’t understand they make Miocic X Cigano. I don’t know whether it is 100% confirmed, but I don’t fight it fair becuase – as I said – me and Velasquez was going to be like a semifinal. It didn’t happen, so walkover. Cain Velasquez would not appear and then I am the next contender.”

“I was the last champion and didn’t consider it fair”, Vai Cavalo continues. “It was the same situation with first and second in the rankings. I would find it fair if Stipe Miocic would not fight, me and Cigano go for the interim championship. If it won’t happen, it had to be me. It is what I think about it”, finishes the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.
