Following months of postponed meetings the Nevada State Athletic Commission yesterday approved settlement agreements for Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones and Nate Diaz.
Following a violation of the UFC’s anti-doping programme Jones received a one-year suspension backdated to July 7th. Although the former 205lb champion blamed the positive test results on a sexual enhancement product, this suspension means he will not be able to compete for the UFC until next summer. This suspension also matches the same punishment given to Jones by USADA.
As for Stockton bad boy Diaz, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported that he agreed to be fined 2.5% of his $2 million UFC 202 purse, which amounts to $50,000 as well as serve 50 hours of community service, for his part in the bottle-throwing incident with Conor McGregor at the pre-fight press conference, Brock Lesnar, for his failed UFC 200 drug test which was later revealed to be a positive test for clomiphene, Okamoto reported that the commission fined the heavyweight fighter $250,000 and suspended him for year from July 7th.
The Lesnar vs. Hunt bout from UFC 200 was also overturned to a no-contest.
