She’s back! Ronda Rousey is set to return and attempt to recapture the UFC 135lb championship belt when she challenges current champ Amanda Nunes in a year end blockbuster at UFC 207.

After almost a year out of in action and keeping a low profile away from the media circus that has accompanied her throughout here career, ‘Rowdy’ will make her return on December 30th in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White went on Fox Sports 1’s ‘The Herd’ magazine show to make the announcement. “The thing that everybody has been waiting for, for a good year, Ronda Rousey is back,” White announced with a grin.

“She will fight December 30 for the title. The thing is Ronda Rousey has been the biggest, baddest female fighter on the planet now since we got into women’s fighting. Ronda had a bad loss, obviously, and lost her title, but she’s still Ronda Rousey at the end of the day. When you talk about bad matchups for Ronda, it’s just about Ronda coming back. Everybody wins or loses. It happens.”

Following the announcement both Nunes and Rousey didn’t engage in anything out of the ordinary on social media apart from promoting the event, but somebody that did make some noise was Cris Cyborg. While some feel a second successive loss would diminish any interest in a Rousey vs. Cyborg super fight, the Invicta 145lb champion begs to differ.

“I want all my fans to know Ronda Rousey could lose 100 fights in a row and I would still want to fight her”, Cyborg tweeted. “It’s not about money, it’s respect.”

White went as far as promising that fight would take place, as long as Rousey his victorious at the end of the year.

“I said she would fight Cyborg,” said White. “First, Ronda’s got to win. Then, I don’t know what she’d going to want to do. She’s told me she wants to fight Cyborg. As long as I’ve known her, she’s always wanted to fight Cyborg. There’s no doubt in my mind that she’ll fight her. I don’t know if she’s going to defend the title several times before that.”
