‘The Mauler’ didn't waste any time in his UFC debut
The 22-year-old version of Alexander Gustafsson who stepped into the Octagon for the first time bore only a passing resemblance to the ripped, rugged elite light heavyweight he’d go on to become, but he did show some of the skills that would take him to within a whisker of a title. He dropped Jarred Hamman with his first meaningful punch, and began his campaign as one of the best 205lb fighters on MMA's biggest stage.
