ONE Championship is heading Stateside, and they're bringing a blockbuster main event for their debut show.
ONE Fight Night 10 will take place Friday, May 5 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and will be headlined by a flyweight title trilogy bout as reigning ONE flyweight champion Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson takes on former champion Adriano "Mikinho" Moraes.
The first bout between the pair saw Johnson suffer a knockout loss to Moraes, whose experience under ONE's global ruleset, which permits knees to a grounded opponent, proved crucial in the finishing sequence at ONE on TNT 1 in April 2021.
Johnson regrouped and, after defeating Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a special mixed-rules bout at ONE X in March, rematched Moraes and finished him with a fourth-round flying knee knockout at ONE Fight Night 1 in August.
Now Johnson and Moraes are set to face off for a third time, with the ONE flyweight world title on the line once again.
The chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, said, "This is a monumental day in the history of ONE Championship as we announce our US on-ground debut in Colorado on Friday, May 5.
"We are very grateful for the support of the state athletic commission and look forward to putting on an unforgettable show for our passionate fanbase in the US and watching around the world."
The choice of Colorado for ONE's first US-based event has a certain familiarity to it. The state was also the location for the very first UFC event back in 1993.
