Who do you believe Conor McGregor will fight next?

You have two guys at 155lb right now worthy of the next shot. Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson are number one contenders all day long. And nobody is going to be p**sed if either of those guys gets matched with Conor next.

But the reality is this, and those guys don’t know yet, but they are going to have to face up to it.

Neither one of them is getting that shot. Neither one of their next fights is going to be Conor McGregor. They’re going to end up fighting one another to kick the can down the road, because there’s a time issue here.

Conor has already told us he’s going to take his oars out of the water for a little while, he’s got the kid coming up and he’s going to be doing whatever he can to get the (Floyd) Mayweather fight.

Whether that fight comes off or not, the reality is neither Khabib or Ferguson can go top of the bill right now with Conor.

They’re not going to be given that opportunity. They’re just not. They’re going to have to fight each other. And even then, will the winner even get a shot at Conor?

Will he ever move back down in weight to defend his featherweight belt?

That’s definitely not happening either. It’s pretty clear to see that he’s never going to be moving back down to 145lb, so that belt is just going to go away. I could see a third fight with Nate Diaz coming off first.

That makes the most sense if you’re Team Conor. Or possibly Tyron Woodley. Not sure if I’d buy that one, but sure. Either of those fights is more likely than either Ferguson or Khabib stepping in with him right now, sadly.

That’s just the reality. It’s the biggest fights with the biggest dollars attached.
