Noche UFC looks all set to become an annual UFC tradition, according to UFC CEO Dana White.
White chatted with the media during Tuesday's Contender Series post-event press conference, where he shared a text message he received during Saturday night's UFC Fight Night event, which took place at the T-Mobile Arena on Mexican Independence Day.
"'Hey Dana, your idea to go all-in on Mexican Independence Day paid off. Noche UFC was the most watched Fight Night of all time on ESPN+. 1.1 million unique views,'" he read.
"1.1 million people that had never been to ESPN+ tuned in for that fight,' White continued.
"So, think about that. Killed it. It was an incredible success."
White said that, as a result of the huge success of the event, he plans to host a Mexican Independence Day event every year moving forward.
"I will get that date every year from now on," he stated.
"I don't care if somebody here in town gets the date at the (T-Mobile) Arena, I'll go in an opposing arena and go head-to-head with them next year. I'm doing this for the rest of my reign here.
"They can go on the same night, we can go head-to-head. I'm going. The thing was a massive success for us. This is something that I've been thinking about since the day we bought this company. So, we're finally in the position, I'm all in.
"All my chips are in on Mexico. We're opening the PI, which we've spent millions and millions of dollars on. We did it, it was huge, and we'll do it again every year."
White also said that it was a huge night for Raul Rosas Jr. whose 54-second TKO victory over Terrence Mitchell went gangbusters on social media.
"I don't know what it was like for you guys, but on my socials – I'll give you an example – the faceoff between Valentina and Alexa did 1.5 million views in less than 24 hours. (Rosas) did three million views in less than 24 hours," White said.
"He doubled what the main event did and destroyed the rest of the card as far as views. They love that kid."
White's enthusiasm continued as he declared, "After what happened on Saturday night, we're going to Mexico.
"(Rosas) won't be headlining Mexico, but he'll be there. So, we're already in the works for a Mexico fight."
