ONE World Champion superstar Jonathan Haggerty ended 2023 with double gold over his shoulder, and he’s not going anywhere any time soon.

The bantamweight kickboxing and Muay Thai king announced this week that he has signed a new multi-fight contract with the world’s largest martial arts organization, which is expected to get underway in early 2024.

Haggerty took to social media to express his excitement about the news.

"I’m happy to announce that I have signed a multi-fight contract deal with the best organization in the world ONE Championship. I just want to say thank you to Chatri Sityodtong and the whole ONE team for taking care of me as always,” he said.

The new contract comes off the back of a monumental year for the British Muay Thai star, who returned to his glistening best in April 2023 after moving up from flyweight to debut in the bantamweight division at ONE Fight Night 9.

Haggerty met longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama in his first meeting and shocked the world by knocking out the Thai legend in the first round to take the coveted belt.

The historic knockout would later be named ONE’s Best Muay Thai KO of 2023, but Haggerty wasn’t done yet. He returned to the ring six months later, at ONE Fight Night 16, to take on bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade for the division’s vacant kickboxing World Title.

“The General” showcased his supreme skills against the dominant Brazilian that evening, and he eventually finished him in the second round to claim his second strap and end his 2023 campaign in glistening fashion.

The Brit banger hasn’t been afraid to admit that he has designs on Andrade’s MMA World Title, and though nothing is confirmed, his new deal with ONE Championship could include a switch to the all-encompassing sport.

ONE is set to kick off its busiest year yet this weekend at ONE Fight Night 18: Gasanov vs. Oh. The organization will put on 61 events in 2024, so there’s every chance we could see Haggerty in action sooner rather than later.
