PFL Paris will play host to a thrilling contest as Abdoul Abdouraguimov will meet Jack Grant in the co-main event.
For their first year in Europe, PFL promised to build stars & storylines whilst making extremely interesting contests- which they did extremely well. The second year of their expansion looks to be very similar.
PFL beat a lot of promotions to sign the ARES double champ Abdoul Abdouraguimov to a multi-fight contract. The Lazy King started carving his name as a formidable threat when he racked up 6 submission wins in his first 6 contests.
His first loss came in 2019 at the hands of Jarrah Al-Silawi at BRAVE CF 27. Ensuring he wasn’t to taste defeat again, Abdouraguimov, the grappling sensation, has finished 6 of his 7 bouts via submission since. His run on ARES was short and sweet, competing four times for the promotion and collecting two belts in the process.
His most recent outing came at PFL Europe 3: 2023 Playoff against Brad Wheeler. Immediately showing his grappling prowess, Abdouraguimov tied Wheeler in a rear naked choke in the first round and very much proved the hype around him was correct.
Standing opposite him in the cage on March 7th will be Jack Grant. Grant is one of the most experienced British fighters on the circuit. Having competed for many of the top promotions, globally, the 26 fight veteran will offer some unique challengers.
After amassing a 6-fight unbeaten record on the domestic scene, Grant’s first shot on a major show came against Jefferson George at BAMMA 15. Grant was handed his first loss in a split decision against George and then spent his time hopping between BAMMA and the UK scene.
He then signed a multi-fight deal with Cage Warriors & after beating Perry Goodwin, Medhi Dakaev & Aleski Mantykivi, he found himself challenging for the vacant Cage Warriors title against Jai Herbert at Cage Warriors 106. After an entertaining first two rounds, Grant succumbed to strikes in the third stanza, ending the contest. He was back fighting for the belt just 2 fights later against Agy Sardari but once again lost out to the better man on the night. He then moved up to Welterweight and after beating Madars Fleminas, fought Ian Machado Garry for the Welterweight strap but was unsuccessful in his attempt.
After one fight on Bellator, Grant had a two year layoff but came back with a last second submission win over Ahmad Labban at BRAVE 80.
In the main event of the PFL Paris card, French sensation Cédric Doumbé will face the unbeaten Baissangour Chamsoudinov.
