Ahead of an action packed Saturday night at the Honda Centre, Anaheim California, the UFC held the final press conference ahead of a monster night of fights.
UFC 298 is filled with exciting bouts which will see rising stars making their promotional debuts, bouts which will no doubt change some athlete's standings in the rankings throughout several divisions and be capped off with one of the most intriguing Featherweight title fights in recent memory.
At the top of the bill, long time Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will take on the surging Ilia Topuria in what has been billed as many to be a veteran taking on a hungry young prospect.
The co-main will see the return of Paulo Costa, for the first time since August 2022, in a Middleweight bout against the former UFC champion Robert Whittaker.
Ian Machado Garry has a meteoric rise through the Welterweight division and he will look to maintain his perfect record whilst working his way up the rankings. Standing in his way will be UFC veteran Geoff Neal. Entering the contest on the back of a loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, Neal suffered some health issues away from the octagon which has kept him side-lined for almost a year.
It appears Henry Cejudo will make his final run at the UFC gold this time round, and will start proceedings with a clash against the number two ranked Merab Dvalishvili - with the victor between the two putting themselves in prime position for a shot at the Bantamweight title.
Ahead of the eagerly anticipated card, Anthony Hernandez, Roman Kopylov, Merab Dvalishvili, Henry Cejudo, Geoff Neal, Ian Machado Garry, Robert Whittaker, Paulo Costa, Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski - who was donning an interesting outfit, which was certainly leaning heavily into the 'Old Man Volkanovski' narrative he believes is surrounding him heading into the contest.
The floor was then open for the media to fire questions at the 10 athletes and host, Jon Anik. You can watch the UFC 298 press conference highlights, below:
