In his biggest spot to date, Lerone Murphy proved that he belongs amongst the featherweight elite in his first main event.

The Manchester fighter put on a dominant display against the incredibly tough and durable Edson Barboza to beat his first ranked opponent.

Murphy's output and accuracy were on point at the UFC Apex as two of the three judges scored all five rounds in his favour in a fight of the night main event.

In the co-main event, Khaos Williams secured his first finish since his first two fights inside the Octagon as he stopped Carlston Harris in the opening 90 seconds of the first round.

Elsewhere on the main card, Themba Gorimbo's third consecutive win in the promotion was the only other time that the judges were called into action as he defeated Ramiz Brahimaj via unanimous decision.

The other main card offerings produced a pair of impressive finishes as Adrian Yanez made quick work of Vinicius Salvador to return to the win column and Angela Hill submitted Luana Pinheiro in her 25th UFC fight.

Australia's Tom Nolan picked up a big bounce back victory in the featured prelim where he recovered from being dropped by Victor Martinez, only to stop him one minute later in the first round.

Oumar Sy also put in a noteworthy performance by securing a first round submission win over Tuco Tokkos on his Octagon debut.

The French fighter will surely be looking ahead to the recently announced Paris event that is coming up in September as his next outing.

The earliest major talking point of the card came from a night to forget for Piera Rodriguez who was disqualified for intentionally headbutting her opponent.

She was initially warned by referee Mark Smith after leading with her head but did the very same thing a moment later, forcing Smith to cause a break in the action.

When it became clear that Ariane Carnelossi couldn't continue from the strikes, she was awarded the win in very rare circumstances.

"The Miracle" was undoubtedly the star of the show following his main event performance against a legend of the sport in Edson Barboza.

Murphy is sure to wake up next week with a number next to his name, setting him up for nothing but fights of this magnitude from this point on.
