Nate Diaz evened the score with Jorge Masvidal last night, with a decision win in their boxing bout.
The first time the two met, Masvidal took home the win when their BMF bout was stopped by the doctor at UFC 244, due to a cut on Diaz’s face.
5 years later the pair met once again, but this time, inside the boxing ring. In what was a thoroughly entertaining contest, Diaz and Masvidal went to war.
The official scorecards read 95-95, 97-93 and 98-92. Diaz took everything Masvidal had to offer and pushed forward throughout the 10 rounds, relentless with his pressure and output.
Following the contest, Diaz has targeted a rematch with Jake Paul and with the current UFC Welterweight champion Leon Edwards In his post fight interview he said:
“(Jake Paul) was just off the top of my head that I would like to whip his ass,
“I’d like to get a win against Leon Edwards who is the best fighter in the world right now at 170.”
"I think that’s something major who actually brings something that I can take and put in a credential box, that’s what I’m going for. I’m not playing for no f*cking fun fights, because that shit ain’t fun.”
Diaz received a quick response from Youtuber turned boxing Paul, who said captioned a video:
"F*ck you Nate Diaz. You're a h*e who ducked my $15m PFL offer."
Paul and Diaz originally met in August 2023, with Paul taking home the decision win, and claiming his biggest scalp to date in the process. Ever since, the two have regularly discussed the idea of facing each other once more.
Although Diaz is targeting a rematch with Paul, the 'Problem Child' already has a date set with former UFC athlete and Bare Knuckle FC contender Mike Perry later this month, before his controversial bout against Mike Tyson in November, a bout that was set to place on July 20 but Tyson was forced to withdraw due to ill health.
