It has been a difficult few months for Molly McCann away from the octagon.

‘Meatball’ will make the walk once again on July 27, when she faces Bruna Brasil at UFC 304. The card, which is set for the Co-op Live arena will feature a host of British talent and will see Tom Aspinall put his interim title on the line against Curtis Blaydes and Leon Edwards take on Belal Muhammad.

Speaking to MMAJunkie, McCann revealed that although camp has went extremely well, her personal life has taken some big hits. She said:

“Personally, I feel like I've took the biggest L's in my life. Just had a lot going on personally, that's just been quite tough but I feel like any fight camp I ever had that was seamless and nothing went wrong, I've ended up losing! The ones where I had to overcome adversity behind closed doors, They're the ones where we win. So yeah, in the gym, I'm thriving and I home now I'm thriving but yeah personally took some big L's this last four months.”

When asked if she would like to disclose any of the issues she has had outside of the sport, McCann opened up about the struggles she has been through.

“We lost family member, she was young. I called off me engagement and then the TV show come out and then it's all about my relationship on that, I'm just like ‘for fuck's sake’ Like, I’ve got to see it all the time to now, but done the right thing for both parties and the right thing for my career. So, it's all bittersweet, but it's for the right reasons.”

McCann is in a unique position whereby Brasil has already faced one of her teammates. Previewing the contest, the 34-year-old outlined what she is expecting come fight night.

“I just remember I tried to play her for Shauna for when Shauna fought her. She beat Shauna Bannon, who is a training partner of mine. She's dangerous, she's got good finishes, she's an all rounder, striking is her game. I've trained for like she's the hardest opponent I've ever faced and she's evasive. Yeah, I like to fight Brazilians and they like to fight me.”

The Next Generation MMA star did not reveal her game plan but feels that if she can stick to it, it could be a very good nights work.

“A fight is a fight and it can go any which way. If the fight goes the way that we've prepared and planned for and if I execute the game plan it's a brilliant night for Molly McCann. If Bruna Brasil shows up a little bit different, it might take a little bit more time to figure out. I see nothing but a victory and I’ve prepared for three, five minutes of war... and if I can get it done within that time, happy fucking days.”
