Only one fighter missed weight ahead of tomorrow night's UFC 304 card.
Flyweight Jake Hadley stepped in on just over one weeks notice to face Caolan Loughran at Bantamweight but came in at 137lbs, one pound over the 136lbs limit. The fight will still go ahead but Hadley will forfeit 20% of his purse.
Ahead of the electric fight card tomorrow night (July 27), all athletes took to the scales.
From being booed by his home fans at UFC to adored across the globe, it has been quite the journey for Leon Edwards. Since being crowned Welterweight champion against Kamaru Usman at UFC 278, Edwards has looked unstoppable successfully defending the title twice with decision wins against Usman and Colby Covington. Belal Muhammad believes when the two first met, he was having more success than Edwards in the bout, before an accidental eye poke led to Muhammad being unable to continue. 3 years after their first meeting, Edwards and Belal will collide once more in the main event, with Welterweight gold on the line this time.
Tom Aspinall’s only loss in the UFC came because of unfortunate circumstances when he faced Curtis Blaydes in 2022. Just 15 seconds into their contest, Aspinall threw a leg kick then as he went to plant his foot on the floor, his knee completely gave out and the injury kept Aspinall out of action for a year. The Brit never shied away from the fact that he wanted to eventually face Blaydes again and now he has the opportunity to do it. The bout will also mark the first time Aspinall will look to defend his interim heavyweight belt.
The rest of the card is littered with top British talent with the likes of Paddy Pimblett, Molly McCann, Arnold Allen, Mick Parkin, Muhammad Mokaev and Nathaniel Wood all also successfully making weight.
