Frenchmen Benoit Saint Denis and Nassourdine Imavov are set for a big homecoming as they compete in the main and co-main event of UFC Paris, respectively.
The promotion return to France on September 28, with Benoit Saint Denis taking on Renato Moicano in a Lightweight contest and Nassourdine Imavov facing Brendan Allen.
Announcing the two major bouts, added to an already stacked card, UFC CEO Dana White posted a video across social media with the news. He said:
“What's up, everybody? I have some more flight announcements for you. Saturday, September 28, we're returning to the Acor Arena in Paris, France, for another sold out event. The main event, number ten, ranked Renato Moicano takes on number 12 ranked Benoit Saint Denis. Moicano is on a three fight win streak, beating Jalen Turner, Drew Dober and Brad Riddel. Five of his last six wins have come by finish.
“He faces the always dangerous Benoit Saint Denis. Saint Denis is finished all 13 of his wins by knock out or submission and his last three fights have earned him performance bonuses. In the Co-Main event, number four ranked Nassourdine Imavov takes on number seven ranked Brendan Allen. Imavov is dangerous wherever the fight goes with heavy hands, elbows and Dagestani wrestling.
“Brendan Allen is currently on a seven fight win streak, he’s making a strong case for title contention. Five of his last seven fights have ended in Rear Naked Choke, and he has the second most submissions in Middleweight history. Ladies and gentlemen, September 28, live from the Acor arena in Paris, France. I will see you there.”
Elsewhere on the card, French superstar Morgan Charriere will look to bounce back to winning ways when he takes on AJ Cunningham, Fares Ziam will look to follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Benoit Saint Denis and hand Matt Frevola his second loss in as many bouts.
