The Octagon returns to Salt Lake City this Saturday night for UFC 307 at the Delta Center.

With the release of UFC Countdown, fight week is officially upon us ahead of what is going to be a big month for the MMA leader.

The preview episode, which is up now via the UFC's YouTube channel, focuses entirely on the two title bouts that will go down this weekend.

First, the UFC cameras take you to Brazil where light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has returned home to spend time around the streets that he grew up in.

Along with training alongside people that he has known since he was a child, "Poatan" visits the tire shop that he worked in as his first job.

Pereira also gives back to his community by handing out supplies to those that are less fortunate than him, replicating his iconic celebration at UFC 300 when pointing to the boxes.

His opponent Khalil Rountree is next as he receives his first ever UFC Countdown treatment for his first title fight.

As a result, this section focuses heavily on his journey in the sport and how dedicating himself to martial arts allowed him to turn his life around for the better.

There's a lot of talk about self confidence and his career-defining change in mindset that has led him to the main event of UFC 307.

The preview for the co-main event largely centres around the shared past between bantamweight champion Raquel Pennington and her opponent, Julianna Peña.

Both women came into the UFC via The Ultimate Fighter and during their time on the show, grew to dislike one another after being roommates.

A fight between them could have settled their feud then and there until an injury forced Pennington to withdraw from the series as Peña went on to win the tournament.

Now, at long last, they will finally collide inside the Octagon having circled each other for many years at this stage.
