#1-ranked strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez is out of her return bout at UFC 310 on December 7 in Las Vegas.

The highly regarded contender was set to face Virna Jandiroba at the T-Mobile Arena in what would have been a title eliminator.

MMA Fighting confirmed the news that was initially reported by MMA Melotto.

Suarez is clearly one of the best fighters in her weight class but injuries and other setbacks outside the cage have stopped her from being consistently active.

In 2019, she extended her winning streak by beating Nina Nunes but her hopes of fighting for the title were put on hold for several years.

Suarez returned in February of last year, submitting Montana De La Rosa in the second round before making it consecutive guillotine victories when she tapped Jessica Andrade.

The 33-year old has had two fights cancelled this year that could have seen her finally make that last breakthrough.

Bouts with Amanda Lemos and Jandiroba fell through due to injury and health issues on her part and there's no update as to how severe a setback this may be.

It is also unclear at this time whether Jandiroba will receive a new opponent in order to stay on the card for December 7.

The Brazilian is currently riding a four fight win streak, including a submission win over Lemos last time out in July.

With no other clear contender for Weili Zhang's world championship right now, rebooking this match-up would appear to make the most sense unless Suarez is going to be out of action for a considerable amount of time.
