Taking five UFC fights in a calendar year requires formidable levels of fitness, courage and stamina. Here's an elite eight who have done it
Chris Leben
UFC veteran Chris Leben was the first to achieve this feat. In 2006, he managed three wins and two defeats, one of which was to Anderson Silva on debut.
Roger Huerta
Consistency seemed to be the key for Roger Huerta, going undefeated in all five of his fights in 2007. His last against Clay Guida was also named Fight of the Year.
Donald Cerrone
To add to his lengthy list of UFC records, Donald Cerrone fought five times in 2011 only coming up short in his final bout of the year against Nate Diaz.
Neil Magny
Winning all five of his fights in 2014 wasn't enough for Neil Magny, so he fought another five times in 2015 when his only loss came by submission to Demian Maia.
Thiago Santos
The most recent fighter to compete in five UFC bouts in a year, Thiago Santos ended 2018 with a move up to light heavyweight and two impressive finishes.
Ross Pearson
The first Brit to have five UFC fights in a calendar year, Pearson even managed two fights in a month, stepping in on short notice to fight Jorge Masvidal in July 2016.
Uriah Hall
TUF 17 runner-up Hall fought five times in 2015 with all three of his wins coming by TKO, most impressively in an upset victory over Gegard Mousasi.
Daron Cruickshank
2014 probably didn't finish the way Daron Cruickshank had hoped with his fifth and final bout of the year ending with an accidental eye poke from K.J. Noons.
