Robert Whittaker vs Israel Adesanya at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium promises to be out of this world
UFC 243 could be something special. The spectacular – which will be headlined by Whittaker and Adesanya competing for the UFC middleweight title – will take place on Sunday October 6 (Saturday in the US) at Melbourne’s 60,000-capacity Marvel Stadium. If, as seems likely, it sells out, it will be the biggest attendance ever at a UFC contest. The venue is no stranger to major UFC promotions as over 56,000 fans witnessed Holly Holm knockout Ronda Rousey here at UFC 193. Whittaker and Adesanya should eclipse that figure given the bitterness of their feud, plus the long-standing Australia-New Zealand rivalry. Gear up for an event that could shake the MCU.
