5 Vinny immediately bridges with his hips and begins to turn away from Scott over his left shoulder.
6 As Vinny turns onto his knees, he grabs Scott’s right elbow with his right hand.
7 Once he’s onto his knees, Vinny is able to slip his head out from Scott’s control.
8 Vinny gets a bodylock by clasping his hands together. From here he can move to take Scott’s back.
TOP TIPS
White Belt
A successful arm triangle choke cuts off the blood circulation on both sides of the neck, by squeezing with your arm on one side and compressing your opponent’s shoulder against him on
the other.
Purple Belt
This counter must
be done quickly.
Taking too long will
give your opponent a chance to adjust and reapply the choke.
Black Belt
When applying an arm triangle choke, walk your legs around and away from your opponent and drive forward with your toes to finish the submission.
