A second world title fight has been added to the fight card for Cage Warriors 188, which takes place in Dublin, Ireland later this month, the promotion have announced today.

James Webb (11-5-1) will look to make the first defense of the light heavyweight title he won at Cage Warriors 180 in November when he takes on former UFC fighter John "The Hunter" Allan in the Irish capital on April 26th.

Webb is a former middleweight champion within the UK-based promotion, having held the 185 strap back in 2019. The Englishman made the move up to the light heavyweight division after falling at the final hurdle in his bid to reclaim middleweight gold when he lost to Mick Stanton in July of 2023.

Following a twelve-month hiatus, Webb debuted in his new weight class last summer, picking up an impressive unanimous decision win over Adam Bieganski. That win earned him a shot at then-light heavyweight champion Andy Clamp in November, and in the third round of a memorable battle, Webb secured a TKO finish to join the illustrious list of fighters who have won Cage Warriors titles in two seperate divisions.

John Allan (18-9) comes in for his promotional debut, carrying a fearsome reputation. The Brazilian's last five victories have come by way of first-round finish.

Allan signed with the UFC back in 2019 and picked up a decision win over Mike Rodriguez in his Octagon debut. That decision was overturned to a 'no contest' after Allan failed a drug test however, and he went on to lose to both Roman Dolidze and Dustin Jacoby following his return from his suspension, before being released from his contract.

Cage Warriors 188 is set to be headlined by a welterweight title fight between reigning champion James "Jimbo Slice" Sheehan (8-3) and Justin Burlinson (9-2). Hometown favorite Sheehan returns to the venue where he won his belt a year earlier when he submitted Daniel Konrad.

UFC 188 takes place on April 26th at Dublin's RDS Arena, live on UFC Fight Pass.
