The food that fuels WSOF’s Brian Foster to finish fights.
Q. Which are your essential training-camp foods?
A. The foods I have to have during fight camp are steak, chicken, fish, veggies and some rice. I gorge on watermelon and almonds.
Q. What do you like to eat after you weigh in?
A. First I hydrate, then I pick at some white meat – chicken – for a little protein. Then I grab a small steak and some potatoes after that.
Q. What’s your favorite fight-camp meal?
A. My favorite meal is steak and eggs – anytime I can get it.
Q. Do you cheat with anything?
A. Ice cream. Chocolate ice cream is my favorite.
Q. What do you crave?
A. The food I look forward to most after a fight is a nice steak.
Q. What’s in your freezer?
A. I have ice, veggies, steaks, deer meat and chicken.
Q. What’s your signature dish?
A. No signature dish, unfortunately. I can cook a lot of good stuff though. Pretty much anything with directions.
Q. Which nationality of food is your favorite?
A. American, (but) there’s a lot of s**t in America I wouldn’t eat (laughs).
Q. What’s your favorite meal your mom makes?
A. She makes some great fried chicken.
THE FACTS
The unhealthy American food Foster won’t eat contributes to 90% of its citizens eating more sodium than is recommended for a healthy diet.
THE STATS
Just half a cup of Häagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream has 10g saturated fat – about 50% of your daily amount.
THE INFO
Due to its high protein content, having steak and eggs for breakfast should give increased energy levels, more focus and fewer cravings throughout the day.
