A comeback, suspension, supplements, sustenance and a title fight – five topics for four pro fighters.

The Fighters

Brian Ortega Unbeaten Los Angeles UFC 145lb black belt

Daniel Weichel Bellator’s German featherweight contender

Joe Taimanglo Guam’s red-hot Bellator bantamweight

Brad Pickett   Bonus check-cashing British bantamweight

Q1: Who wins – Michael Bisping or Dan Henderson?

Ortega

A: Man, I would love for Henderson to win. He has the power to knock Bisping out. But Bisping’s no joke. He’s been on a roll. He has a new fire. It’s a pretty good fight.

Weichel

A: Dan Henderson will win again. The first knockout was so tremendous, it’s still in Bisping’s head.

Taimanglo

A: What Bisping did to Rockhold was nice but I think Dan still has it in him. He took it to Hector Lombard in his last fight. That was impressive. You can never count Dan out. He’s the man.

Pickett

A: It could go either way, over a five-round fight, I think Bisping wins, (but) Dan Henderson has the potential to put him away.

Q2: Which weight class would you like to see Georges St Pierre fight in?

Ortega

A: I’d like to see him fight Robbie Lawler. He just goes for it. I don’t think Lawler is a good guy to point fight with because he’s dangerous no matter what. Any Robbie Lawler fight is a good fight.

Weichel

A: I would love to see him in the division he fought originally, 170lb. I want to see him stay true to his natural division and fight someone in the top 10.

Taimanglo

A: GSP moving up a weight class would not be a good idea. Guys will be bigger and hit harder. I’m excited to see him again and I want to see him at 170.

Pickett

A: That man can fight at any weight he wants, I’m just glad to see him back. He’s been away from the sport for too long. I’ll fight him at 135lb if he wants to come down here (laughs).

Q3: Do you think Jon Jones will ever fight again?

Ortega

A: I don’t know, man. It’s just one thing after another. It’s like a snowball. If he gets suspended for two years, it takes a big toll. Who knows if he can find motivation again.

Weichel

A: Yes. He has a strong mind. He’s a champion. He will get over this and he will fight again, I’m sure about that.

Taimanglo

A: I don’t know about Jon. He has ups and downs. He wants to be a changed person but we keep seeing more issues from him. Hopefully he can straighten up and come back.

Pickett

A: He’s such a great athlete and people still want to see him compete. He’s got to want to come back and get his s**t together. If he does want to compete I’m sure the UFC will have him.

Q4: Do you use any sports supplements to support your training?

Ortega

A: I use pre-workout. To be honest, I suck at nutrition. I did EXOS training and I failed the nutrition test (laughs).

Weichel

A: I use supplements from a German company, Olimp. They have an endurance line of products. I take BCAAs, glutamine and all proteins.

Taimanglo

A: I drink a protein shake, but that’s about it. I don’t take supplements or performance enhancers. I don’t believe in that stuff. I’ve never even thought about using that stuff.

Pickett

A: I take protein, BCAA’s, ZMA at night time, multivitamins and cod liver oil because my bones are getting old. The best supplement is hard training.

Q5: What is your favorite franchise restaurant?

Ortega

A: Anyone who knows me knows my favorite fast food is Jack in the Box. Sometimes I do it when I’m in fight camp, I’m not even going to lie. I p**s my coaches off.

Weichel

A: I really like burgers with sweet potato fries. We have two burger restaurants in Frankfurt that make all their burgers homemade. I also love Mexican food – in combination with pizza.

Taimanglo

A: This is the hardest question yet. I’ll eat it all. Can I leave this one ‘all of the above’? I love food.

Pickett

A: My favorite food is steak and there’s a great steakhouse called Picanha. If I’m in England I like Nando’s and a new one called Chicken Shop.
