Bloody black belt Diaz makes McGregor submit in the main event of another blockbuster UFC show.

If there’s one thing any MMA fan should know, it’s to never count a Diaz out. Despite this undoubted wisdom, plenty of people did when Nate – the younger of the Stockton siblings – was called in at short notice to face the hottest fighter in the sport: Conor McGregor. He was as high as a +400 dog with oddsmakers, dismissed by much of the press and UFC commentator Jon Anik even made a derisory claim he’d get the 209 area code tattooed on him if the TUF 5 winner won. But win he did. The NorCal kid ate his vegetables and then ate some punches before finding his range, landing his signature strikes and forcing the fight to go to his canvas domain where ‘The Notorious’ didn’t stand a chance.
