The world’s favorite British ringcard girl returns to drop jaws and make her case for the World MMA Awards statue

Q: You’ve been an Octagon Girl for more than three years now Carly, how has life changed?

A: It has been an amazing few years. Through working with the UFC I’ve met some wonderful people. The UFC team, fighters and supporters feel like a family. I’ve traveled to some beautiful countries and I’ve been part of some of the best fight nights. The UFC just keeps growing and growing and I am proud to be part of it. I love what I do and it has helped to give me a lot of opportunities. I’ve been fortunate to get some fantastic TV exposure as well as pursue my ambitions as a personal trainer.

Q: You always look amazing, is this part of the job description or do you just love working out?

A: I actually love working out. It keeps me fit and healthy, wakes me up and makes me feel better. I’ve always been into fitness and nutrition that’s why I qualified to be a personal trainer, it’s just a passion that I have and I admire the UFC fighters’ fitness regimes for sure, that’s another level of dedication!

Q: Which country would you most like to go to with the UFC?

A: I think South Africa would be an amazing country to hold a UFC event. Holland, Russia and Wales would be good too. It’s about time we saw what the Welsh fans can do.

Q: What’s have been the highlights of your job?

A: There are lots. Every UFC event I do is a highlight but the Las Vegas International Fight Weeks are always crazy – last year’s especially. It just shows how popular the sport is and how far it has come. Dublin is always mental and the fans are so passionate. Then again it’s always good to be in my hometown of London. Of course another big highlight was being nominated again for ‘Ringcard Girl of the Year’ at the Fighters Only MMA Awards. Thank you.

Q: What’s been the best after-party you’ve ever been to?

A: There have been a few! Every after party in every country is always such a good time. Abu Dhabi was a fun party in an amazing venue, Berlin, Dublin, London, Sweden they are all crazy! I suppose Las Vegas would top it all though, the clubs out there are ridiculous and they know how to party. Hakkasan in Vegas with Calvin Harris playing was one of my favorite nights.

Q: What do you have planned for the year ahead?

A: Well, 2015 was a crazy year so hopefully 2016 will be as exciting with events in even more countries and cities. I’d personally like to get involved in more TV and acting roles as well as presenting, which to be honest is already underway. I want that ‘Ringcard Girl of the Year’ title too!
