Following the passion and enthusiasm of the Mexican crowd last weekend, the more reserved surroundings of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas will play host to an exciting fight card this Saturday night.
Let’s take a look at the fights making up the main card at UFC Vegas 105 this weekend.
Josh Emmett vs. Lerone Murphy (Featherweight)
Hard-hitting veteran Josh Emmett (19-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) returns to action for the first time since his memorable knockout win over Bryce Mitchell in December 2023.
Despite being 40 years old, Emmett is still one of the most dangerous fighters in the 145-pound division and has accumulated the most knockdowns in featherweight history (12) since moving down from the lightweight division in 2017.
Lerone Murphy (15-0-1 MMA, 7-0-1 UFC) is riding a seven-fight winning streak, the second-longest winning run in divisional history, behind Movsar Evloev (8).
Joanderson Brito vs. Pat Sabatini (Featherweight)
Brazil’s Joanderson Brito (17-4-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) looks to return to the win column after having his five-fight winning streak snapped by a questionable split-decision loss to William Gomis at UFC Paris last September.
He will face grappling phenom Pat Sabatini (19-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC), who has picked up 13 submission victories in his professional career to date.
Cortavious Romious vs. Chang Ho Lee (Bantamweight)
Cortavious Romious (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will be searching for his first win inside the Octagon when he takes on Road to UFC veteran Chang Ho Lee (10-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on Saturday’s main card.
Romious was outpointed by Gaston Bolanos in his UFC debut in November, while Lee picked up a split-decision win over Long Xiao at UFC Saudi Arabia last June.
Kennedy Nzechukwu vs. Martin Buday (Heavyweight)
Kennedy Nzechukwu (14-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) will be looking to stretch his unbeaten run to 3-0 since moving up to the heavyweight division in October. Having finished both Chris Barnett and Lukasz Brzeski in under one round, it’s safe to say the move has worked out well for "African Savage."
Four of Martin Buday’s (14-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) wins inside the Octagon have come by decision, and the Slovak will be looking to drag Nzechukwu into deep waters when the two clash this weekend.
Gerald Meerschaert vs. Brad Tavares (Middleweight)
One of the most tenured fighters in the promotion, Brad Tavares (20-10 MMA, 15-10 UFC) will make his 26th walk to the Octagon on Saturday. Not only has Tavares made the most UFC appearances in middleweight history, but he is also just one win away from equaling Michael Bisping’s record of 16 UFC wins at 185 pounds.
Gerald Meerschaert (37-18 MMA, 12-10 UFC) holds the records for most stoppage wins (12) and most submissions (11) in divisional history.
Robert Valentin vs. Torrez Finney (Middleweight)
Switzerland’s Robert Valentin (10-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will be looking to bounce back after losing in the finals of the most recent season of The Ultimate Fighter. After securing two first-round finishes on the show, Valentin was TKO’d by Ryan Loder in his official UFC debut last August.
He faces Octagon debutant Torrez Finney (10-0), who had to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series THREE TIMES before finally convincing the UFC CEO to give him his big break.
