FO spends fight week with Rose Namajunas as she kicks off the most action-packed weekend in UFC history against Paige VanZant

Wednesday December 2nd 

One week out from the second UFC main event of her career, Namajunas sharpens her striking at Grudge Training Center in Arvada, Colorado, with head coach Trevor Wittman. She relaxes between sessions by shooting some hoops.

Friday December 4th

Namajunas and her fiance, former UFC heavyweight Pat Barry, take their dogs for an walk at Colorado’s Fruitdale Park before more pad work. “I’m very impressed with her athleticism, her footwork and body position,” says training partner Nate Marquardt.



Sunday December 6th

Namajunas and Barry leave their Arvada home with their team and make the trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. The TUF 20 finalist will face Paige VanZant in a five-round main event at UFC Fight Night 80 on Thursday night.

Tuesday December 8th

It’s media day for the UFC’s December 10th card fighters, which means open workouts and interviews. ‘Thug’ Rose reveals how she plans to win her fight: “I’ve just got to stay patient and stay technical, breathe, and wait for those opportunities.”

Wednesday December 9th

With just one day to go before the fight that will air live on UFC Fight Pass, Namajunas hits the scales at the official weigh-ins. Both she and her opponent from Team Alpha Male come in at 115.5lb and are officially cleared to fight.

Thursday December 10th

Namajunas enters the Octagon in front of a sold-out crowd at The Cosmopolitan. Despite being the underdog she dominates VanZant from the opening bell, before finally sealing the win via rear naked choke at the midway point of the fifth and final round.



Friday December 11th

After a night of celebration, the number-three ranked 115lb in the UFC fighter sends out thanks to her team and everyone who rooted for her. “These guys are the best!... And thanks to all the fans hope y’all enjoyed,” she posts on Instagram.
