Chuck Liddell was the man in North American MMA a decade ago. ‘The Iceman’ was America’s best-loved mixed martial artist thanks to his trademark mohawk and penchant for punching people’s lights out with amazing regularity. And he arguably reached the height of his powers 10 years ago this month as he returned to the Mandalay Bay Events Center for a rubber match with Randy Couture to complete MMA’s first major trilogy. The result was a typical Liddell display of power as he made ‘The Natural’ eat the canvas at the start of round two to solidify his legacy as one of the sport’s greatest champions.
