FO joins the UFC bantamweight champ as he prepares to defend his title

Saturday July 4th

With just 21 days to go until his title defense against Renan Barao at UFC on Fox 16, Dillashaw takes a break from training camp and celebrates July 4th like a true American – with fishing, fireworks, barbecue and country music.

Monday July 6th

Conditioning like TJ’s doesn’t come easy. In order to keep his gas tank limitless, Dillashaw runs Colorado’s famous Manitou Incline with teammate Danny Castillo. “Feeling in shape at 8,000ft elevation,” the champ says.

Wednesday July 8th

Another day, another training session under head coach Duane Ludwig and UFC veteran Eliot Marshall. Among the champ’s sparring partners is Neil Magny, training for his fight against Demian Maia at UFC 190.

Saturday July 11th

TJ puts his focus on friends Brandon Thatch and Chad Mendes as they compete at UFC 189. Unfortunately, both suffer defeats – Thatch via submission to Gunnar Nelson and Mendes via TKO to Conor McGregor.

Tuesday July 14th

Staying healthy during camp is key, so Dillashaw drops in at Action Spine & Sports Medicine in Denver, Colorado for another visit with Dr Ben Cowin. “Best my body’s felt going in to a fight!!” TJ shares on Instagram.

Monday July 20th

The champ touches down in Chicago with wife Rebecca and his team. “I’m living the dream right now. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, I’m on top of the world. I just enjoy the process instead of worrying about everything,” he says.

Saturday July 25th

Dillashaw enters the Octagon at the United Center to defend his title. Once again the Team Alpha Male product proves his championship quality with a dominant performance, stopping Barao early in the fourth round.
