Drag your foe out of the ultra-defensive turtle position with this slick wrestling breakdown

Kenny Johnson with Pedro Munhoz

Premier MMA wrestling coach with students including BJ Penn, José Aldo and Anderson Silva

1 - Kenny has Pedro’s back but has limited options due to Pedro’s defensive turtle position.

2 - Kenny blocks Pedro’s far-side hip with his arm and grips Pedro’s inner thigh with his left hand.

3 - Kenny grips Pedro’s right wrist.

4 - He changes angles to attack Pedro form the side.

5 - Kenny uses his grip on the wrist to anchor Pedro while he pulls on his torso to pull him off balance and onto his side.

6 - Staying tight to Pedro’s back, Kenny changes his hand position and gets control of Pedro’s upper body with an over/under seatbelt grip.

7 - Kenny shifts his weight backwards, dragging Pedro to his back. Pedro has very limited movement from here due to the pressure on his chest.
