Four-time World Jiu-Jitsu Championships gold medal winner and UFC vet Vinny Magalhaes shares his best no-gi submissions aided by Syndicate MMA’s Casey Milliken. Here, Vinny demonstrates an inverted triangle from mount.
1. Vinny (white T-shirt) is in the mount position. Casey wraps his arms around Vinny’s body and buries his head in his chest to avoid strikes.
2. Vinny pops his right leg up and leans over it to trap Casey’s left arm.
3. Vinny uses his left hand to push Casey’s head away.
4. He slides his knee over Casey’s right shoulder and lifts his head up with his left hand.
5. Vinny locks Casey’s head by grabbing his right shin with his left hand, then rolls onto his right side.
6. Vinny brings his left leg over and locks in the figure four by burying his right foot in the pit of his left knee. He then pushes himself back to top position with an inverted triangle.
7. From this position, Vinny can strike or attack for a kimura on Casey’s isolated left arm.
