Following her 14-second destruction of Cat Zingano, Planet MMA debated whether Ronda Rousey could defeat a male bantamweight in the UFC. But We asked the MMA universe...

LOU NEGLIA

President of New Jersey-based promotion Ring of Combat

Yes

It is. It goes to that professional wrestling concept and I don’t believe that’s good for the sport. Creating a sport like MMA was so hard to do and to tarnish what people have managed to accomplish would be terrible. It would make the sport look more like a circus. I believe it should be man vs. man and woman vs. woman too. I believe Ronda Rousey is an extremely talented fighter, but she should stay in the women’s division, retire when she‘s accomplished all she wants to, and let’s keep it more of a sport.

MARION RENEAU

UFC women’s bantamweight contender

6-1

No

Just because she was willing to say that she’d be able to beat some of the guys in the men’s 135lb division, they should go ahead and let her fight one of them. I want to see that happen because she thinks she’s this invincible super woman and no one can defeat her because she’s untouchable. It’s ludicrous for her to think that. If she’s willing to say something that stupid and childish then she should go ahead and fight a guy. I’d love to see it happen. Hearing that she thinks she could beat a guy in the men’s division is simply insane to me.

What you had to say on the matter...

“Yes! A woman cannot take punches like a man, totally different bone structure. It’s wrong on all fronts.”

@hodgylufc

“Stupid idea all around and never would be sanctioned anyway.”

@themmaguide

“No just tarnishing egos of all men who have to admit she’d kick their ass.”

@steves_simpson

“Yes because nothing can be gained from it. A man wins... he beats a woman. A man loses... he lost to a woman.”
