1. John is standing over Greg’s guard.
2. Greg drops his right hip to the mat and bases out on his right elbow.
3. Greg extends his right arm to cover more distance. With his planted foot, Greg pushes away from the mat with his toes.
4. Greg fully extends his left leg and aims to get it as far around John’s head as possible.
5. Greg lowers his kicking leg and looks to place it back on the mat.
6. While stepping back with his right leg, Greg creates a frame with his lead arm to maintain the distance while in a compromising position.
7. Greg returns to his orthodox fighting stance.
PRO TIP:
Throughout this technique ensure to extend your left arm towards your opponent’s face to keep you at a safe distance.
