Four-time World Jiu-Jitsu Championships gold medal winner and UFC vet Vinny Magalhaes shares his best no-gi submissions aided by Syndicate MMA’s Casey Milliken. Here, kimura from mount.
1. Vinny starts off in the mount position. Casey leans forward, wraps his hands round Vinny’s waist and buries his head in Vinny’s chest to protect himself from strikes.
2. Casey holds on but Vinny pops his right leg up, plants his foot on the mat and leans towards the same side as his posted leg.
3. As he leans to the side, Casey’s grip breaks and Vinny can throw strikes or push his head away using his left hand.
4. At this point, Casey’s left arm is trapped between Vinny’s right thigh and body, so Vinny can reach back to grab Casey’s trapped wrist with his right hand. He leans back slightly and drags Casey back to make room to wrap his left hand under his arm so he can grab his own right wrist and lock in the kimura.
5. To finish, Vinny pushes Casey’s arm down in front of his leg.
