Four-time World Jiu-Jitsu Championships gold medal winner and UFC vet Vinny Magalhaes shares his best no-gi submissions aided by Syndicate MMA’s Casey Milliken



1. Casey has Vinny in his rubber guard.



2. Vinny knows that if he tries to pull out from the guard his limbs will become elongated and exposed to submissions. With this in mind, he drives his weight forward and stacks Casey onto his shoulders.




3. Vinny works his hand through the space between Casey’s head and shoulder until he has cleared his whole arm through.




4. Vinny lowers his weight, switches his hips and brings his back leg through.



5. Vinny pushes Casey’s left leg to the mat with his right hand to create an opening for the pass.



6. Vinny passes his cross side knee through to the mat and pins Casey’s left leg with his lower shin.



7. Vinny cups Casey’s left elbow to prevent him from blocking his hip with his hand.



8. Vinny slides his left leg all the way through to complete the pass, he finishes in the scarf hold position and keeps a hold of Casey’s elbow to help maintain his position.
